Equipment Design

1,Determination of process calculation parameters:

⑴ Material parameter:

Feed water content :  ω=90%, Product moisture content: ω=5%;

Feed temperature:   θ=20℃, θ2=60℃

Output of drying tower: W=300㎏/h.

⑵ Air parameter :

Ambient temperature:         t=20℃,

Air moisture:        d=0.01㎏water/㎏ dry air,

Hot air inlet temperature of drying tower:    t= 160℃

Hot air inlet moisture content:      d= 0.01㎏ water/㎏dry air

Exhaust temperature of drying tower :     t =8 0℃,

2,Material balance

Take off the water :

Wwater=Wcapacity×(ω) /(1-ω1)

=300×(90%-5%)/(1-90%)

=2550Kg/h

Feed quantity of raw material liquid:

W=W+W=2850kg/h

3,Heat balance:

⑴ Evaporation heat required:

 Q1 =W×595+W×(0.45×t-1×θ1)

=2550×595+2550×(0.45×80-1×20)

=155.8×10Kcal/h

⑵ The product heats up the heat needed:

 Q2 =W×〔Cs×(1-ω)+1×ω〕×(θ-θ)

   =300×〔0.4×(1-0.05)+1×0.05〕×(60-20)

⑶ External heat loss of drying tower:

 Q3  =0.1×(Q+Q)

=0.1×(155.8+0.516)×10

=15.63×10Kcal/h

Checking computations:Dry heat loss control in the periphery 60~100Kcal/Kg water,Now:15.63×10/2550=61.3Kcal/Kgwater,In the control range.

⑷ The hot air flow required for drying:(Consider the amount of air leakage by 10%)

 G=(Q+Q+Q)/[i-i'-0.1×0.24×(t2-t)]

 i-i'=(0.24+0.45×d)×(t-t)

=(0.24+0.45×0.01)×(160-80) 

=19.56Kcal/Kg

G =1.1×(155.8+0.516+15.63)×104/ (19.56-0.1×0.24×(80-20 )),

  =94896.85Kg/h convert volume flow as 73563Nm³/h

⑸ Required heat for drying:

 Q=G×(i-i)

 i-i0=〔(0.24+0.45×d)×t+595×d〕-〔(0.24+0.45×d)×t+595×d

     =〔(0.24+0.45×0.01)×160+595×0.01〕-〔(0.24+0.45×0.01)×20+595×0.01〕

     =34.23Kcal/Kg

 Q=94896.85×34.23=324.8×10Kcal/h

⑹ ,The drying tower exhaust moisture content calculation:

 d2 =d+W/G

   =0.01+2550/94896.85=0.03687Kgwater/Kgdry air

 Check the air humidity diagram:The wet bulb temperature corresponding to the exhaust temperature and moisture content istw2=46℃,则t-tw2=80-46=34℃,Can ensure the cyclone separator does not dew.

4,Calculation of spray tower:

The inside diameter of the general spray tower isD=(0.85~1.4)×2R

  Get:D=1.28×(2R)

      =1.28×2×3.448

=8.83m

  Rounding,get D=8.9m

  • Height of spray tower:

 ①General spray tower straight section height is:H=(0.9~1.1)D,

Get H=1.1×D=9.79m

 The volumetric heat transfer coefficient for centrifugal spray drying is 30~50Kcal/m·h·℃,Its value is inversely related to the particle size of the product, and positively related to the axial velocity of the hot air.According to experience, small values should be taken α=45Kcal/m·h·℃.

③The quantity of heat exchanged in a dry tower:

=α×t×V

   =45×61.67×782.3

   =217.09×10Kcal / h>Q+Q=156.32×10Kcal/h

5,Heat source calculation:

9,Equipment Brief:

This system adopts the spray volume per hour for the high-speed centrifugal atomizer 3000kg.

Dry finished powder is discharged under the drying tower and cyclone dust collector, and the exhaust gas is discharged outside after dedusting.
